Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade
Transatlantic Trade Relations: American Chamber of Commerce Ireland
2:00 am
Duncan Smith (Dublin Fingal East, Labour)
I apologise for being late; I was speaking in the Chamber. To further this line but in a slightly different direction, Mr. Sweetman has answered quite clearly in so much as he can in terms of the view that there could be reputational damage in the eyes of American industry, commerce and politics in respect of this. When we had IBEC before the committee during pre-legislative scrutiny of the occupied territories Bill, someone asked a question and I am going to ask the same of Mr. Sweetman. Have any of the chamber's members come to it in the past year or six months and said that they will not grow any further, will reduce their footprint here and will reduce the number of employees they have here as a result of our support such as it has been to this point - bear in mind it has not even come to the Dáil yet - of the occupied territories Bill?
