Petition on Pearse House Regeneration
2:00 am
Mr. Neil Maloney:
That is exactly what it is like. The kitchen measures 2 m going across, if even that; maybe 1.8 m, which is probably about my height. It really is small. There is room for only one person in there. If it was looking at retrofit, opening up the "opes" would bring more light into the flats. I live on the bottom. There are six of us in a two-bedroom flat. Our youngest son has autism and that is a constant battle. I am not the only one. There are an awful lot of people like that. You feel at times as though the walls are closing in around you. You go to the toilet or for a shower and someone else wants to use the toilet. There is nowhere for us to go. An awful lot of people are experiencing that overcrowding. There really is nowhere for us to go. You have a sitting room and a toilet. Some of our children actually go and sit on the toilet on the phone-----
