These are concrete steps where older people or anyone with a disability might struggle. There is an onus on Dublin City Council to ensure accessibility for all its tenants. The argument made by Mr. Maloney was that if it involved a private landlord, residents would be able to go to the RTB. It might not be today or tomorrow but if Sinn Féin is ever in power, we would bring all local authorities under the remit of the RTB because no landlord should be able to get away with what Mr. Maloney's landlord is getting away with.
