Even with the regulation in place, engagement must happen with local communities. This sector will not develop unless we have local communities on board. The developers working on these projects must respect the local communities where the plants are going to be operating. They must engage with those local communities. We heard from previous witnesses that they tried some of that engagement but it was not necessarily correct. We are looking to develop a communications strategy for the implementation and development of the sector. One of the key elements will be to establish best practice for engaging with communities. We are aiming to set that out in the near future.
