With regard to concerns that might be raised in other sectors, a range of concerns coming to Safeguarding Ireland emanate from civil society organisations. They are not mandated to comply with HSE policy unless they are HSE funded. A large sector is voicing concerns but there is no avenue where they can be explored or registered. Likewise, there is very limited or no training available to improve their practices with regard to adult safeguarding. Most organisations are very effective anyway with regard to child protection but there is a complete void when it comes to adult safeguarding.
