Specifically on the CSDDD, we agree with the need for adequate support for SMEs. I want to make very clear how the omnibus would make things more difficult for SMEs. It would bring about indirect burdens shifted down the supply chains; larger companies could push due diligence requirements onto SMEs to protect themselves; and, as opposed to what was originally in the CSDDD, the omnibus would introduce very vague protections for SMEs.
