On foot of the initial sanction to principal officer level, we set about retaining a recruitment firm to help us with the position. It was at that stage that we consulted with the OGCIO about the job specifications, and it was very helpful. We made quite a lot of arrangements to advertise the post, going forward on the principal officer level. We were very disappointed when the post was subsequently downgraded.
