The committee is considering the impact of means testing on disability allowance, disablement pension and other social welfare schemes with the Disability Federation of Ireland, DFI, and associated organisations. The committee is interested in hearing about the impact of the means test on these organisations and the people for whom they advocate along with recommendations for changes that could implemented within the social welfare system. We are joined by Ms Fleachta Phelan, policy advocacy manager with the DFI; Ms Sandra Porter, financial well-being officer, Huntington's Disease Association of Ireland; and Mr. Padraig Hannafin, Rehab public affairs research administrator and vice chairperson of the Cork Centre for Independent Living.
