Notwithstanding the political tensions, there is broad agreement that the current deal is better than no deal but it is worse than being a member of the European Union because it does not include services, which is by far the fastest growing part of the economy. It, therefore, excludes Northern Ireland being a base for service provision into the European Union. It is better than the alternative but it has gaps.
