There have been considerable advances in streamlining that system, but whenever a garda detects someone under the influence, there are points to prove. It is not a straightforward prosecution. There are all sorts of pitfalls around case law and points that must be proved to a criminal justice standard, so it will never just be a simple file, given all of the evidence that will be required for the proofs. However, we have tried our best to streamline the process as much as possible. Obviously, we want prosecutions. A number of cases involving people under the influence of drink where their readings are low are dealt with rapidly through fixed-charge penalty notice, FCPN, disposals. That has taken away from the number of prosecutions.
