Paul McAuliffe (Dublin North West, Fianna Fail) | Oireachtas source
I move amendment No. 531:
In page 154, after line 37, to insert the following:
“Permitting of Lifetime Extensions on Existing Windfarms
67. Lifetime extensions for existing permitted wind farms shall be permitted following either a notification or a planning application to the relevant authority. That authority shall decide within eight weeks of receipt of a notification whether this is sufficient—(a) where the relevant authority decides that a notification is sufficient, it shall automatically grant the permit,
(b) where that authority decides that the notification is not sufficient, it shall be necessary to apply for a lifetime extension and such extension shall be granted where no significant negative environmental impact is expected.”.
