On the issue of resources, there is no doubt the volume of journalists working in newsrooms today vis-à-vis20 years ago is lower. That puts pressure on reporters to get things right, which everyone strives to do in a newsroom but the reality is that is becoming more challenging because the resources Mr. McConnell, for example, has at his disposal as a national editor are fewer than those his colleagues may have had 20 years ago.
