We look at regional differences in outcome based on case mix, age and comorbidities. In the event we find outliers, we feed back to the hospitals and talk to them about their sepsis committees, their protocols and any issues that might be happening. Since I have been looking at the sepsis reports, there have been no specific outliers within the hospital groups for excess mortality that would be of concern.
