There is a huge amount of complexity in it. We have highlighted that at this committee on many occasions. The chapter that the Comptroller and Auditor General completes is helpful in terms of tracking all of the elements. Local government provides over 1,100 services to the public. There are over 580 different grant lines. If I am not mistaken there are 587 different grant lines across the various Departments and agencies. The Departments of Transport and Housing, Heritage and Local Government, as the Comptroller and Auditor General has said, provide the largest amounts of funding.
