Is there potential that such an approach could come up against the same obstacles as the youth work apprenticeships seem to be facing with respect to who funds the placements? An apprenticeship is not a role already recognised in the budget of an organisation or agency, so there would need to be increased funding. I am aware that the youth work apprenticeship scheme is coming up against issues concerning who funds the apprentice, because the projects or the youth work sector does not have the money to pay the apprentice.
