Surveying methods have advanced considerably over recent decades. That would give it a determination in terms of the extent of the extent of the site around a monument. Some sites can be connected and linked to other sites in the vicinity. Generally, the approach would be to proceed on a case-by-case basis and use the surveying methodology to ascertain what the range of a site would be.
