The WHO has identified that one of the threats to population health is antimicrobial resistance, which is a resistance to antibiotics. At a society level, and a level of population health, it is not good for us to overuse antibiotics. That is a campaign that we have had here and internationally with GPs and hospitals that they should not prescribe antibiotics all the time.
