I thank the Deputy for his contribution. He made reference, as he has done on a number of occasions, to the letter Philip Lane sent to me in 2019. He quoted selectively from page 2 of the letter. Did he have a look at what was stated on page 3 of the letter? If he did not, I will read it out to him. Page 3 of the letter he has quoted copiously from over recent days states, "Against this background and taking account of the more stringent European remuneration regulations now in place, we believe there may be merit in allowing more enhanced flexibility with respect to remuneration for such staff."
