To follow up, the Secretary General said in his opening statement, "Nevertheless, while appeals officers have continued to utilise remote hearings, they have, since restrictions were relaxed, also offered and held in-person hearings where there is a valid reason to do so." Is it not on the request of the appellant and that if they ask for an oral hearing, they will get one?
