If I were to point to one policy decision or piece of work that would be really meaningful for those families, it would be the removal of the pressure and responsibility on lone parents to look for maintenance. We should have a system that is more reliant on the State and the State should take some responsibility for supporting the parent and making sure they have legal access and reasonable access to that income.
