It is also probably useful to say that the situation has changed, as I mentioned. The political demography has changed and the relationships have changed because the UK is not in the European Union any more. Frankly, that means the political trajectory in the medium to long term is probably more encouraging to nationalists and republicans than to unionists and loyalists. Unionists and loyalists feel, as they are right to feel, that the trajectory for politics in the future is less favourable to them and more favourable to colleagues like Ms Gildernew.
