Cost of Living, Minimum Wage Increases and Report of Low Pay Commission: Discussion
Paul Murphy (Dublin South West, RISE) | Oireachtas source
In the EU directive on adequate minimum wage rates, which is really what is driving this 60% issue and where it is coming from, there is an important article referring to collective bargaining, which is where there are less than a certain number of workers covered by collective bargaining - in Ireland, we are substantially less - the Government needs to produce an action plan to promote collective bargaining and it needs to be made public and notified to the European Commission. Has Mandate had any engagement or, as far as Mandate is aware, has ICTU, with the Government on developing this action plan for collective bargaining?
