We were talking about the distinctions between the new office for transparency and fairness and the CCPC. The witnesses will know that one of the criticisms of this committee, and we have spoken about it previously, relates to allegations of either price fixing or cartel-like behaviour. Essentially, the position of the CCPC is that it does not have the evidence to follow that through. However, it can decide to initiate investigations into a particular set of circumstances.

To my mind, it has never carried out a comprehensive investigation into what are now consistent and sustained allegations dating back several years that the meat processing sector is essentially operating a position where there is collaboration, to put it mildly. Why has that been the case?
