It may have given rise to the conversation, but this legislation would apply to every case of redundancy as a result of insolvency. A fair and proportionate response is one that treats all employees equally and does not create a secondary class of employees who, by virtue of being made redundant through insolvency versus through other circumstances, achieve higher redundancy payments.
