Public Accounts Committee

2020 Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General
Chapter 3 - Central Government Funding of Local Authorities

9:30 am

Mr. Graham Doyle:

Yes. There is a huge amount of oversight and accountability. What I am very anxious to do might be slightly dangerous to say it before the Committee of Public Accounts. On one level, we must control and be careful around the use of State money in the context of all the processes and procedures we have in place. At another level, we must ensure the projects are delivered and houses get through. We must balance the scrutiny with delivery. It is very important we work with the local authorities in that respect.
