Joint Oireachtas Committee on International Surrogacy

Surrogacy in Ireland and in Irish and International Law: Discussion (Resumed)

Ms Jennifer Armstrong:

In my experience, my kids did not really need it. They were nine and 13 years old at the time. They were old enough to understand. There were able to access counseling services through my agency, if they needed it. They did not as I am a family therapist and it was easy for me to describe the whole situation. Had they required it, or had they any issues, I would have absolutely been able to access services. It is also part of my surrogacy contract. Services for them are written into it.
