You might think that this is quite a low level of activity but I believe that what usually is sufficient is that CORU will alert the practitioner and if the practitioner is not aware of the regulations in Ireland, it is sufficient for the enforcement team to contact the practitioner and inform him or her that he or she must go through the process. In such a case, where it is simply a misunderstanding, it is often not in the public interest to pursue that case all the way to the High Court with all the expenses involved in that.

I understand that the particular circumstances in those cases warranted pursuing them all the way to the High Court. It is often sufficient just to engage with the practitioner and to tell them what the rules are in Ireland and that they need to get their qualifications recognised and to get on the register. However, it is my understanding that they are quite active.
