I move amendment No. 44:

In page 44, between lines 12 and 13, to insert the following: "(3) For the purposes of preparing a report referred to in subsection (1), the Commission shall have regard to the need to secure that the number of members of a local authority to be elected for each local electoral area should be not less than 5 and not more than 7, provided that a smaller number (but not less than 3) may be recommended if the size of the local electoral area concerned would otherwise be disproportionately large.".

I will not press the amendment but I may submit it again on Report Stage.
