Consideration of Public Petition on a Ban on Herbicides in Public Areas: Discussion

Making the public space look like a golf course is a good way to put it. It is not really a case of doing nothing. One would do quite a lot of good by not using herbicides or pesticides, since it would allow for growth and be good for biodiversity. Mr. Walsh mentioned the pollinator plan, which I was going to raise too. There are many examples of how we label products, including alcohol, tobacco and so on, so that could be looked at. The green schools movement and tidy towns are forums which could bring awareness to the issue.
