Mr. Byrne put it really well. Toxic masculinity needs to be taught out of students. It is a societal issue. It is not just happening in schools. It does make girls very uncomfortable. I did woodwork for my junior certificate but I did not do it for the leaving certificate for the very reason that it was an uncomfortable environment. That is only amplified for non-binary students and students who do not fit into certain boxes. It is definitely something that even an RSE curriculum could possibly cover. It is something that should be taught at home and at every level, from primary to third level.
