We have an overarching literature policy and strategy that aligns with Making Great Art Work, which is our ten-year strategy. The literature paper that was published in 2018 calls out a number of areas that we need to address and Irish-language literature is one of them, stating that we need a specific policy and strategy in this area. With the exception of a specific policy and strategy in children’s literature, we do not have a specific policy statement as such. That would be the case for a lot of art forms. With every arts plan there is a page, a paper or an alignment for each art form and that would always have included Irish-language literature. Making Great Art Work, our ten-year strategy, is a bit different in that it does not call out any specific art forms at all.
