From a local radio perspective, John Purcell, chair of the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, IBI, told this committee before Christmas that the sector would have been goosed and gone if not for the Sound and Vision fund. Some 34 radio stations would have closed. Does Ms Curtis fear for the future viability of local radio stations and newsrooms?
