Travelling in a Woman's Shoes Report: Discussion

I thank Ms Cahill for bringing this report to the table - it contains very valuable information - but what would she do if she were given a pot of cash in the morning to allocate resources to make the situation better, to make public transport and active travel generally more attractive for women? I read some of the stories. Making children more independent so that they are confident to cycle to school would mean mothers - I accept that it can be fathers too - would not have to go to the school and take up an hour or two of their day getting there, picking children up and bringing them home. We all know the difference in traffic levels between when schools are open and closed. It is apparent absolutely everywhere, in urban and rural areas. By all means the first step is to bring it to the table and have the discussion and we have had the report and the recommendations, but if Ms Cahill were given resources in the morning, what would she like to do first?
