There are two points. On the release of spectrum, throughout the pandemic the Minister has temporarily released spectrum to alleviate congestion on mobile phone systems, particularly in rural areas. It has had a significant impact on the quality and performance of mobile networks outside urban areas. That was an emergency measure brought in by the Minister to help the phone networks deal with the major uptake in services in rural areas during the pandemic. The release of spectrum is clearly key to ensuring mobile phone services are delivered appropriately across the country.
