In our view, going on the derelict site register is about income generation. However, every derelict site charge is attached to a property. They are always payable.
As Mr. Shakespeare said, they travel with the land so we will ensure that a charge is put on each property for any outstanding levies. The interest rate is quite punitive as well. The 7% and the interest rate can be inhibitors to development for people who cannot afford it so there is a balance to be struck. The charge follows the property and it is always collectable.
