I thank Professor Whelan. I agree with what the witnesses say about the fuel allowance and rising energy prices. As Sinn Féin spokesperson for the elderly, I am concerned that there will be fuel poverty this winter if the prices go any higher.

There have been a large number of fuel price rises, which was discussed earlier. Other Deputies spoke on that. I am speaking against the clock and apologies for that. Is inflation targeting the right approach and at what level should we aiming for?
