Women's Shelters and Domestic Abuse Refuges: Discussion
Pauline Tully (Cavan-Monaghan, Sinn Fein) | Oireachtas source
We know that awareness of domestic abuse is much better than it was. Previously, there was always a stigma attached to it and there was a sense that people had made their beds and needed to lie in them. There is more knowledge now and more people are seeking help and not staying in abusive relationships.
Do our guests consider that the services provided overall are standing still or are they improving? I do not mean that as a slight on the services. Are the supports to the services improving or standing still?
