I agree with Deputy Michael Collins.

What is being asked in this amendment is fair. I cannot get over the Minister's statement that it would be unfair on another Minister to have to go through the rigmarole of changing the fee. That is the Minister's job. He should set the fee now in this Bill. If a future Minister does not agree with it, he or she can bring forward proposals to change it. I call on the Minister to accept the amendment regarding the €25 fee. If a future Minister does not agree with it, so be it; he or she can change it down the road. We should send a clear message to the fishing industry by setting that kind of a limit on an appeal fee so that if people make an appeal in the future, they will not worry about its cost. I appeal to the Minister to accept the amendment.
