Joint Oireachtas Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government
General Scheme of the Planning and Development (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2021
Mr. Eamonn Kelly:
Certainly not. In SID cases, An Bord Pleanála has records and a note on its public website that pre-application has commenced, but it does not have the details of it. It is not something that we would envisage requiring a public notice, as the development may be in the very early stages and the developer may or may not have an application ready for submission. The key benefit of pre-application consultation is to find out what the developer needs to submit in the application in the first place.
