Energy Charter Treaty, Energy Security, Liquefied Natural Gas and Data Centres: Discussion

It is not something that I have particularly thought about, but yes. Engineers Ireland estimated that the cost of energy infrastructures for servicing data centres would be €9 billion at some point, perhaps by the end of this decade. Obviously, that is not a cost that is completely on the State; it is partly paid by the developments. However, given the fact that there is such a pressure on public infrastructures, grids and resources by these developments, I feel that there should be some kind of tax associated with that.
