Members are reminded of the long-standing practice to the effect that they should not comment on, criticise or make charges against a person outside the House or an official either by name or in such a way as to make him or her identifiable. I remind members that they are not allowed to participate in the meeting unless they are physically located on the Leinster House complex. In this regard I call on all members prior to making their contributions to the meeting to confirm they are in the grounds of the Leinster House campus.

Today's meeting is being convened to consider the Nursing Homes Support Scheme (Amendment) Bill 2021. I welcome the Minister of State with responsibility for mental health and older people, Deputy Butler. I remind all members that should a division be called, committee members must physically come to the committee room to vote. A total of ten amendments have been tabled, six of which are out of order. We will now proceed to consideration of the Bill. The Minister of State wishes to make some remarks.
