This relates to the strong thrust of our submission, which is around recognising the public sector duty and creating an explicit obligation to be in line with Article 21 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights on diversity and anti-discrimination. The media commission should be made reflective of that in all of its policies, practices and processes, as well as its representation. It is key that the body is created like that from the start and does not have to catch up later on. It is very much reflected in all of the submission that equality must be at the heart of this legislation in every respect.
