To come back on the point just made by Deputy Ó Broin, it is not correct to state that Irish voters gave permission for Sinn Féin to record on a central database whether they voted. It is incorrect to state that. Sinn Féin did so without voters' permission. The information is made available but it is not permitted to record it on a database. It is wrong that Sinn Féin is recording whether people voted on a live database. No other party represented at the committee has stated that it does that and no voter of whom I know would be comfortable with Sinn Féin recording whether he or she voted.
