My understanding is this will not be the same as the UK scheme. I have a tracker rate mortgage and I will pay 100% of the interest on that. I would love to pay 50% of the interest due on my mortgage over its life. I am not sure if that fact is correct but if it is 50% less interest than what I would pay, for example, it would be a very good mortgage.
