Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health

Update on the Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic: National Public Health Emergency Team

Dr. Ronan Glynn:

The first thing to say is that many of the protocols and protective measures that need to be in place were in place previously and will just need to be recommenced. I accept the Senator's point, which was also made earlier, that various sectors need time to anticipate their reopening and the form it will take. Hopefully, at the end of this month, if the disease remains stable or indeed, improves over the coming weeks, we will be in a position to set out a plan for May, June and beyond so that various sectors can see, in broad terms, when they can expect to be reopening all or parts of their businesses.
