The FDA has recommended a pause in the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to investigate reports of blood clots. I ask Dr. Glynn to comment on that and on the French Valneva vaccine.

Some of the basic messaging on hand hygiene has been hugely important but I believe anecdotally and from reports around the country that the practice of hand sanitising has reduced, certainly in shops. I have seen that happen in places and I saw it happen in a shop here in Dublin where there was no hand sanitiser available for three weeks but there was subsequently. In service stations I have seen instances where people have had to look around for a hand sanitiser, which should be in someone's line of vision.

I believe better, improved and newer signage is necessary to remind people of the importance of hand sanitising to prevent the spread of Covid-19, particularly with new variants and in view of the benefits of hand hygiene in the context of preventing the spread of other diseases as well. Perhaps Dr. Glynn will reply to those questions.
