I am conscious that people are very frustrated at the moment about the fact we are still in this situation almost a year on from the onset of Covid. Obviously, it is a difficult time for everybody. When claims are made that we can reduce mortality – I am not saying those claims are wrong - they have to be peer reviewed and evidence-based. Dr .McCartney said there is also an unpublished public health initiative in Spain which demonstrated a remarkable reduction in Covid-19 mortality since vitamin D supplementation of vulnerable older adults.
