I welcome both Professor Harvey and Mr. Bassett to today's meeting. This is a very timely discussion.

I was lucky and privileged to be in Europe the night Professor Harvey and Mr. Bassett launched the report. I thank them personally for their outstanding and dedicated leadership, the work they have put into this and the measured and inclusive way in which they have held all the discussions.

Much has changed since the report was launched. Obviously, the institutions are back up and running, Brexit and the Northern Ireland protocol have been implemented and there is the shared island unit. Things have moved on considerably. Against that background, will our guests give us a general assessment of the stage we are at with regard to progressing a united Ireland?
