Now that we are in this hybrid media system, it is important that we think about some real-time monitoring. That would be particularly the case for the information environment. Senator Boyhan was concerned about disinformation. Certainly, if one brings out a report on disinformation three months after it has happened, the learnings are fairly limited. The commission needs to have the ability to get people to do this kind of monitoring of the information environment in real time rather than following an event.
