Update on Covid-19 in Nursing Homes

That is not quite what I asked, but I will move onto the next question. An article was published, which I am sure everyone has seen. It has also been referenced in respect of the fact that because of staff shortages, relatives are not going to be able to visit residents at the end of life stage. I know many references have been made to the funding model and all of those things. What actions have been taken to recruit and keep staff? Would the witnesses acknowledge that pay and conditions are probably the main barrier to keeping staff and attracting them into the sector? I know we have discussed the funding model. What actions have been taken since the beginning of the Covid pandemic in order to get people into the sector? Critically, people need to be with their relatives at the end of their lives. The article, which states that staff shortages are going to result in people not being able to be with their relatives, is alarming.
